The Contact Probe is used for measurement of ultrasounds in structure borne applications and for condition based lubrication of roller bearings. Its performance is characterized by consistent trending of ultrasound generated by rotating equipment (bearings, gearboxes, couplings, etc…). Its unique tri-frequency filtering allows the user to digitally tune to factory set frequencies that reveal the earliest sign of bearing fatigue and lubrication failure. It is also useful for evaluation of steam traps, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, and inspection of electrical systems.
The contact probe is supplied with integral spiral cable and automatic sensor and frequency recognition. It is standard equipment with most Ultrawave 170 kits. It is well shielded from external parasite noises including interference from FM band waves and other high frequency generating equipments.
Use the Acoustic Grease Gun Adaptor connection to connect the contact probe to any standard grease gun for condition based lubrication of bearings.
The contact probe is included as standard equipment in the SDT 170M, and SDT 170MD kits.

Bearing condition monitoring, condition-based lubrication scheduling, gearboxes, injectors, valves, steam systems, hydraulics, cavitation, and more.
