The Easy-Laser® D450 Shaft Alignment Tool is a affordable, entry level system that is easy to operate. The system is comprised of two small Measuring Units (Sensors) and a handheld, battery operated Control Unit.
The Control Unit provides alignment data using a graphic LCD display. The Measuring Units use dual Laser beams to provide auto calibration and a quick, rough alignment prior to the fine-tuned, final alignment process. The user-friendly system cuts the time required for shaft alignment dramatically.
Easy-Laser D450 is a system, with the performance and expanding possibilities of much more expensive ones. In fact, with the right accessories your D450 system can become any other Easy-Laser system!
The overall thought with the system is "simplicity for the user". All parts included in the system are developed for rough use and to be easy to mount on the machines. As a user you are lead step-by-step on the display through the whole measurement procedure. Even if the technology inside is rather advanced, the principle for measurement is easy. It is built upon the "reverse indicator method" with two laser-/measuring units mounted on each side of the coupling.
Two measurement programs are included with the D-450: Horizontal shaft alignment and Soft-foot. The displayed measurement resolution can be set down to 0.05 mils/thou. When the measurement is finished you can make a print-out, save in the display unit or transfer the data to your PC.
The D450 display unit can save up to 1,000 shaft alignment measurements, giving you plenty of room to store the "as found" and "as left" alignment results

The laser sensors are easily attached to the shafts with universal shaft adapters. The control unit guides the user through a series of simple process steps that include four tape measurements and laser readings at the 9, 12 and 3 o'clock positions. The system calculates and displays the offset and angular values. The values are displayed together with the required shim moves. The control updates the LCD display continuously in real time for direct feedback of adjustment results.
The Easy-Laser can be used to align shafts and couplings that may be separated up to 33 feet apart (10m) with optional extension cables(2m with included cables). The standard system can also fit shafts from 1/2" to 18" (20 - 450mm). The unit is rugged and suitable for use in harsh environments. It can operate continuously for up to 24 hours on a single set of batteries. Extra hardware is available for those circumstances where the standard unit cannot be used.
A simple keyboard makes this system the easiest alignment tool to use, on the market. On the screen, horizontal and vertical values are displayed simultaneously. Built-in spirit levels enable you to line up your 9, 12 and 3 o'clock positions easily.
The measurement results Offset and angular misalignment values are shown on the display, now you know if you are within the recommended tolerance. Plus the shim and horizontal corrections are given at the same time. Choose between "live" horizontal or vertical and watch your moves in real time making it easy to position the machine. Send the measurement results to a portable printer or store the information for PC interface and reporting.
