The light and stylish handheld m 515 - Ex with the Palm OS 4.1 operating system and 16-bit illuminated color display is distinguished by small and well thought out features which make it ideal for use in ex-areas.
Without doubt the greatest advantage: the internal 16 MB memory - lots of space for software and other data. Circuit diagrams and maintenance documents need no longer be permanently stored in an external memory card. The slot for SD (Standard Secure Digital) or MMC (MultiMediaCard) memory cards can be fitted in the factory with such cards thus offering ideal preconditions for additional applications such as dictionaries, travel maps, back-up programs and last but not least memory expansion.
Stored programs can be exceptionally-easily operated thanks to the fully-developed character recognition or the virtual keyboard. Once one has familiarized oneself with graffiti - character recognition, then the writing of E-Mails and texts as well as the filling out of forms is easy.
The m515-Ex is energized by a powerful lithium-polymer-accumulator which can be charged in the Docking-Station (cradle) supplied with the unit.
The high contrast display is ideal for reading circuit diagrams, maintenance or similar documents as well as the filling out of tables and forms. The lightning conditions in which the unit is to be used are immaterial, whether it be at installations in bright sunlight or production plants with artificial lighting, the proved reflection technique ensures that the information displayed is always ideally readable.
Supplied with the unit is a USB Docking-Station which enables data to be interchanged with a PC outside the Ex-area and new applications installed.
The standard applications Palm Desktop 4.01 and Plan HotSync 4.02 as well as a further CD with extensive additional programs such as MGI PhotoSuite Mobile Edition, DocumentsToGo 4.0 and the Palm Mobile Connectivity Software are also supplied with the unit not forgetting the elegant leather case which is stipulated for the Ex-area.
