The TMHN 7 set of lock nut spanners is designed to make the mounting of self-aligning ball bearings more professional. To help ensure long-term reliability when mounting self-aligning ball bearings, it is vital to install the bearing with correct radial clearance.

Using HNM 11 spanner to adjust a self aligning ball bearing

Tighten the nut using hand-pressure only, to make metal-to-metal contact between the tapered surfaces. Do not use the handle.

Mark the shaft at a point corresponding to the beginning of the orange semicircular marking on the tool.

Tighten the nut using the handle until the shaft marking corresponds to the end of the orange semicircular marking. Lock the nut.

NOTE: Make sure that the adapter sleeve does not move on the shaft while tightening.
