Low Frequency Accelerometers
(500 mv/g and 1000 mv/g (1 v/g) Accelerometers)
Low frequency, high output accelerometers are designed to provide a much higher milli-volt output for slow speed machines such as slow speed fans, pumps, mixers and other machinery rotating below 300 rpm (5 Hz). As an accelerometers output is in g's acceleration that uses frequency squared, speed has a very noticeable effect on the output. High output accelerometers can provide an output 5 or even 10 times higher than a standard general purpose accelerometer. They are especially recommended for permanent monitoring systems on slow speed machines as they greatly increase signal to noise ratios.
